Terms of Service
Last updated August 18, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and the operator of task'd ("task'd," "we," "us") for use of the websites, web app, and related services (the "Service").
By creating an account, clicking to accept, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use task'd.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, and the age of digital consent in your country (often 16 in parts of the EEA), to use the Service. If you use task'd on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company, and "you" means you and that company.
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for keeping your password and devices secure. Notify us at hello@taskdboard.com if you think your account was compromised.
2. The Service
task'd is a personal Kanban board: tasks, updates, optional meeting notes, recap, timers, and related features. It is designed for one person, not as a multi-user team workspace. Features available on Free vs Pro are described on Pricing and may change.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not promise that the Service is error-free, uninterrupted, or appropriate for any particular industry or compliance regime.
3. Accounts
You may register with email and password or with Google. You must provide a valid email you control. One person should not maintain multiple accounts to evade trials, bans, or limits.
We may refuse, suspend, or close an account that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, poses a security or legal risk, or was created with false information.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law or store illegal content
- Probe, scan, or bypass security, rate limits, or billing
- Access another person's account or data
- Resell, scrape, or bulk-export the Service except via features we provide to you
- Interfere with other users or our infrastructure
- Misrepresent that task'd is a medical, legal, or financial advisory product
- Upload malware or attempt to reverse engineer the Service except where a law gives you a non-waivable right to do so
- Use the Service to send spam or to process payments you are not authorized to make
We may rate-limit or block traffic that looks like abuse. Repeat violations can lead to immediate termination.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the boards, tasks, notes, and other material you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, backup, display, transmit, and otherwise process Your Content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service for you (including syncing across your devices and generating share cards you choose to create).
You represent that you have the rights to Your Content and that it does not infringe others. If you include information about other people (names in a People field, meeting notes, and so on), you are responsible for any permission that requires.
Feedback you send us (ideas, bug reports, suggestions) may be used without restriction or compensation.
6. Sensitive data — what task'd is not
task'd is a productivity tool. It is not designed for:
- Protected health information (it is not a HIPAA product and we do not sign BAAs)
- Payment card primary account numbers or CVC (use Stripe Checkout, not a task field)
- Government-classified material or data you are forbidden to store in a consumer SaaS app
Do not put that material in the Service. We are not liable for your decision to do so.
7. Plans, trials, and billing
The Free plan is available without a card. New accounts typically receive a 14-day no-card Pro trial. Email and browser identifiers that already used a trial start on Free. We may change trial eligibility to prevent abuse.
Pro is billed by Stripe as monthly ($12/mo), yearly ($96/year), or as a one-time Founder Pro purchase ($149, launch, limited seats). Displayed prices are USD unless Stripe shows otherwise at checkout. Taxes may be added.
Automatic renewal
Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current rate until you cancel. Stripe will charge the payment method on file at each renewal. The checkout page and Stripe Customer Portal show the amount, cadence, and next charge date.
If you add a payment method during a trial, you authorize Stripe to start charging when the trial ends unless you cancel first. A no-card trial does not charge you.
How to cancel
Cancel anytime in Account → Plan & Billing (Stripe Customer Portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep Pro until then, then return to Free. Your boards and tasks remain on Free, with Pro-only features paused as described on Pricing.
Founder Pro
Founder Pro is a one-time launch purchase for a limited number of seats. It does not auto-renew. Once seats are claimed, the offer ends. It is generally non-refundable after purchase except where a law requires otherwise or we decide a charge was clearly in error.
Prices and packaging can change for new purchases. We will not increase an existing subscription's Stripe price without the notice Stripe and applicable law require; grandfathered prices stay on their Stripe Price until you change plans.
8. Refunds
Except where required by law (including mandatory cooling-off rights for some consumers), fees are non-refundable. If a charge looks wrong — duplicate, obvious error, or you never received access — email hello@taskdboard.com and we will take a look. Chargebacks opened without contacting us first may lead to account suspension while we investigate.
9. Our intellectual property
The Service, including software, design, wordmark, and documentation, is owned by us and our licensors. These Terms do not sell you the product — they license you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to use the Service for your personal (or internal) productivity, in accordance with your plan.
You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service, or remove proprietary notices, except as allowed by mandatory law.
10. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties, including Supabase (auth and database), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting and analytics), Sentry (errors), Upstash (rate limits), and Google (optional sign-in). Their terms and privacy policies apply to their processing. An outage or change at a processor can affect task'd; that is not a breach by us beyond the remedies in these Terms.
11. Availability and support
Free and paid plans are provided as is, without an uptime SLA. We may perform maintenance, and we may throttle or queue traffic. Support is best-effort via hello@taskdboard.com or the contact page.
12. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT YOUR CONTENT WILL NEVER BE LOST. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR EXPORTS AND BACKUPS THAT MATTER TO YOU.
Some places do not allow implied-warranty disclaimers. In those places, the disclaimer applies to the fullest extent allowed, and mandatory warranties last only as long as the law requires.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TASK'D AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) TWENTY-FIVE U.S. DOLLARS (US $25).Founder Pro purchases still sit under this cap except where a non-waivable statute says otherwise.
These limits are a fundamental part of the bargain (including for Free users who pay $0). They do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under law — for example death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or (in some consumer laws) our willful misconduct. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, we do not exclude liability we are not allowed to exclude, and you keep mandatory statutory rights.
14. Indemnity
If you are using the Service in a business capacity, you will defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or the law, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (Account → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we shut down the Service.
If we discontinue task'd entirely, we will try to give reasonable notice by email or in-product banner so you can export. Prepaid unused periods are not refundable except where the law requires a refund or we choose to offer one.
Sections that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute terms) survive termination.
16. Disputes, law, and venue
Informal resolution first. Email hello@taskdboard.comwith "Dispute" in the subject and a description of the issue. We will try to resolve it in good faith within 30 days before either side starts a formal proceeding (except for temporary injunctive relief).
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of the arbitration agreement below.
Arbitration (U.S.).If you reside in the United States, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that is not resolved informally will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Either of us may instead bring an individual action in small claims court. YOU AND TASK'D WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. The arbitrator may award relief only in favor of the individual party seeking relief. If the class waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim may proceed in court and the rest remains in arbitration.
Consumers outside the U.S. If mandatory consumer law in your country (including the EEA and UK) gives you the right to sue in your home courts or invalidates arbitration or class waivers, that law controls to that extent. You may also have a right to use an EU ODR platform or a local ombudsman.
Injunctions. Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or unauthorized access to the Service.
17. Apple App Store
If you access the Service through an Apple platform or App Store listing, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and task'd only, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. To the extent any warranty is not effectively disclaimed, Apple's liability is limited to refunding the App Store purchase price (if any). Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the Service (product liability, consumer-protection, or IP). You represent that you are not in a U.S. embargoed country and are not on a U.S. government denied-party list. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it. In a conflict between these Terms and the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement, Apple's EULA controls for the App Store-distributed client.
18. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to hello@taskdboard.com with "Copyright notice" in the subject, including the information 17 U.S.C. §512(c) requires. We may remove content and, in appropriate cases, terminate repeat infringers.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date will change. For material changes, we will post the new Terms on this page and may email you or show an in-product notice. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account. Your continued use after the new Terms take effect constitutes acceptance, except where a law requires a different process.
20. Miscellaneous
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and supersede prior agreements on that subject. If a provision is unenforceable, it is modified to the minimum extent needed, and the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. There are no third-party beneficiaries except as stated for Apple. Headings are for convenience only. "Including" means "including without limitation."
These Terms do not create a partnership, employment, or agency relationship. If we provide a translation, the English version controls to the extent allowed.
21. Contact
